My go-to smoothie for boosting immunity

With the winter season fast approaching, along comes the colds that can leave us feeling run down and groggy. If I feel the tickles of a cold coming on, I jump on my fail-safe immunity boosting tips, including this smoothie which is packed with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals to help ward away the pesky colds.

Berries (especially the purple kind) are rich in anthocyanins, meaning they are an excellent source of antioxidants. Using frozen berries are even better as it preserves their nutritional value and means they can be kept for longer. The free soul protein I use also contains vitamin C, B and flaxseed, which I am all for.
